Howard Wollitz

Howard Wollitz is Of Counsel to the Firm, and is an insurance coverage and business litigator with particular expertise in insurance coverage and bad faith, reinsurance, and professional liability.  He has evaluated and opined on insurance coverage in matters involving general liability, professional liability, non-profit organizations, marine, inland marine, property, and environmental.

 

Born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Mr. Wollitz received his Bachelor of Arts degree from San Diego State University, and his Juris Doctor degree from the University of California-Los Angeles (UCLA) School of Law.  While attending UCLA, he was a member of the Board of Editors of the UCLA Law Review.

 

Mr. Wollitz is a member of the State Bar of California, and is admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court, the Seventh and Ninth Circuits of the U.S. Court of Appeals, and the U.S. District Court for the Central, Eastern and Southern Districts of California, and the Northern District of Illinois.

 

Mr. Wollitz has served as an expert witness on professional liability, professional ethics, attorney fee disputes, and insurance bad faith matters.  He has represented carriers in both arbitrations and mediations.

 

He has been a featured speaker at continuing education conferences on a national and state level, and has lectured on professional liability, insurance coverage, risk transfer devices, and defense and avoidance of bad faith.  He is a sought after speaker at client seminars on a multitude of topics, including insurance coverage, statutes, regulations, and duties of good faith and fair dealing.

 

Mr. Wollitz has been recognized as a California Super Lawyer.

Timothy J. Harris

Tim Harris, an equity partner in the Firm, handles employment and business litigation and directs the Employment Litigation Department. The Firm represents management in all aspects of employment litigation, including harassment, discrimination, wrongful termination, accommodation and wage and hour claims. He also handles commercial business disputes including partnership and shareholder disputes, claims against officers and directors, and has defended directors, officers and third parties against claims brought by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and RTC.

 

Mr. Harris has appeared in state and federal courts, before the American Arbitration Association and the International Chamber of Commerce. He is a member of the Labor and Employment Law Section of the State Bar of California.

 

Born in Yakima, Washington, Mr. Harris received his Bachelor of Arts degree, with distinction, from the University of Washington in 1975, and his Juris Doctor degree from the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) School of Law in 1978, where he was Articles Editor and a member of the Board of Editors of the UCLA Law Review. Mr. Harris is a member of the State Bar of California, and is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts for all California Districts, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the U.S. District Court for the District of Arizona.

 

Mr. Harris is the author of several articles including “Selection and Presentation of Evidence At Trial,” (2005); “The Business Judgment Rule For Officers, Directors and General Partners,” (2003); “The Requirement of Expert Testimony In Appraisal Litigation,” The Appraisal Journal (1992); and “Business Decisions”, (2010).

 

Mr. Harris has been named a “California Superlawyer” from 2007 to 2010, based on a survey of almost 60,000 lawyers in Southern California, independent research and a panel review.

Mickey M. Mardirossian

Mickey M. Mardirossian received his J.D. cum laude from Cornell Law School in 1993. He was admitted to the bars of Pennsylvania and New Jersey in 1993 and previously practiced law with the Philadelphia law firms of Schnader, Harrison, Segal & Lewis and Cozens & O’Connor. Mr. Mardirossian received his B.A. in Psychology and Economics from the University of California, Berkeley, in 1990. He received his degree with U.C.
